Some of you may already know, but we have taken upon our ourselves to once again run the Miami Half-Marathon on January 31, 2021. Running a marathon is a personal challenge, but we're not in this for the glory. We're running for something important. We are running as a team to raise money for Chai Lifeline.
Zalman loved learning, in his memory we started a special fund at Chai Lifeline to pay for tutors, to teach children who are homebound due to their illness.
Perhaps you may not know about the incredible work that Chai Lifeline does. Chai Lifeline is an organization whose motto is: “fighting illness with love”. The love and support they show to a child who is critically ill, extends to their sibling and parents as well. The organization provides year–round emotional, social, and financial support to more than 5,800 children and their families every year. Chai Lifeline´s programs and activities change their lives forever, returning joy and hope and enabling them to live full and happy lives despite the presence of illness.
We got to experience firsthand, how they do this. Through the darkest period of our lives, Chai Lifeline was with us every step of the way. They did all they could for Zalman, to make him happy, to make him smile. Zalman LOVED Chai Lifeline and knowing someone from chai lifeline was on the way, always cheered him up.
Training is not easy, but neither is dealing with illness. If the children of Chai Lifeline can fight each day, like Zalman did, if they can push themselves to go through hospital stays and treatments, we can do this for them.
We are forever indebted to Chai Lifeline for what they gave to Zalman and our family, join us in helping them, help other kids! But we can't do this without your support. We need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids. So please, push the donate button and help us put smiles on the faces of sick children. Let's do this together! Let's make dreams come true.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Rabbi Tzali and Chana Borenstein
