Registration

Q: Do I have to be registered to participate in the Frozen Classic?
A: Yes. To participate, you must be registered.
Q: Is there a registration fee?
A: There is a $100 up-front registration fee. This amount will count towards your minimum fundraising requirement. Please note that the registration fee is NOT tax-deductible.
Q: How do I create a team?
A: You can build your own team by becoming a team captain. To do this, select the registration option that says “Create Team.” From there, you will be prompted to fill out the registration form and guided through the registration process. You can add players to your team during registration, or from your team page once it's created.
Q: Can I be added to a team if I’ve already registered as an individual?
A: Yes. It’s easy for you to make this switch. Simply login to your Player Page and select "Create or Join a team" from the dashboard, then choose the team you want.
Q: Can a team captain be changed after a team is formed? And can I form a team and become a team captain if I’ve already registered as an individual?

A: Registration closes a week before the tournament on Friday, January 3rd.
Q: I’ve already registered, but can no longer participate in the event. What should I do?
A: We’re sorry that you won’t be able to participate. Please let us know ASAP if you can't attend by contacting Aaron Bodzin (abodzin@chailifeline.ca). Please keep in mind that our costs are fixed in advance, so late cancellations should only be due to emergency .
Q: Does every player receive a jersey and swag items?
A: Yes, every player will receive a jersey with their name and number and other swag items.

Q: When I fundraise for the tournament, what am I supporting?
A: Funds raised from this event will support three charitable organizations: Chai Lifeline Canada, Bnei Akiva Schools and Yad Dovid.
Q: Is there a minimum fundraising requirement?
A: All players must raise a minimum of $1000 to participate (included is the $100 non-receiptable registration fee). Teams also have a minimum fundraising requirement of $15,000 in order to participate.

A: Your credit card will automatically be charged the remaining balance you have towards your minimum requirement. on Sunday, January 12th. We will email a gentle reminder leading up to the date for those fundraisers running short of their goal.

A: You can continue your fundraising efforts after event day. Fundraising will officially close on January 31, 2025.
Q: How can my family and friends make a donation through my Personal Fundraising Page?
A: Family and friends can easily donate to your page by selecting the “Donate” button at the top left corner of the website. They can then search for your name or team and will be directed to your Personal Fundraising Page, where they can make a donation. Alternatively, you can provide supporters with the direct link to your Personal Fundraising Page.

Tournament Details

Q: Will there be food and snacks?
A: Each dressing room will be stocked with snacks and power drinks. More information on food during the tournament will be forthcoming.
Q: How many players can be on each team?
A: Each team must have a minimum of 12 players plus a goalie, up to a maximum of 18 players plus goalie.
Q: What are the rules?
A: Standard NHL rules will apply. There will be referees and an official scorekeeper for each game.
